Our entire family has been plagued by the stomach flu. Carter was the first to get it and is the last one to get rid of it. He has been fussy all day and night. So we decided to get him real tired so that he will sleep through the night. I suggested swimming, and it worked like a charm. As soon as we got home, he found the laundry I was folding and fell asleep like this. Poor baby. Hopefully he will feel better tomorrow.

Happy Birthday Carter. Today is your Birthday, and I must say you look handsome! Here are some of the photos from his first birthday bash. We had a BBQ with family and friends to celebrate the big event. However, I should be the one to get the party in my name, seeing that it took 21 hours to bring this boy into the world!

People made fun of Carter’s birthday hat, but I think it looked adorable. Plus he actually kept it on! Success!

All in all, I think Carter had a great day. He conked out for the night as soon as he hit the bed. It was a great night for all of us. I can’t believe it’s been a year already. I am sad that time flies so fast, because I enjoy every moment with this kid. He is amazing!

Ever since I put Carter in this snuggly bear sleeper, he has slept through the night (from 11 p.m.-8:00 a.m.) I recieved it from my friend Heather (thank you Heather) for my baby shower. Who would have thought that this very adorable polar bear sleeper would be the final trick to getting him to sleep through the night?

She purchased it from the GAP, and it is the softest, warmest, snuggliest sleeper I have ever seen and Carter loves it too. Isn’t he so darling in it? And how fun is it that he gets to wear a costume every night?

Carter went to sleep last night at 8:00 p.m. and didn’t wake up until 6:00 a.m. this morning. He has NEVER done this before. I am wondering if he is just tired from our trip to Utah, or he’s sick, or did I actually do something right yesterday that put him on this amazing new sleep pattern? I seriously doubt this was attributed to me. Although he slept, I did not. I woke up at my usual 3:00 a.m., then 5:00 a.m., went to check to see if he was alive at 5:30 a.m., and then JM ended up worrying too much about him and woke him up at 6:00 a.m.! Carter has never slept for more than 7 hours in his life. Latley he’s been waking up every 3 hours due to a cold. I have been exhausted and praying for more hours of sleep. The Lord definately answered my prayers, however…to my dismay I couldn’t reap the benefits of solid sleep due to my persistant worry over Carter. Hopefully next time I will have the worry subside so I can get some sleep!
